The Char Dham Yatra is a sacred pilgrimage journey in the Garhwal Himalayas of Uttarakhand, India. This spiritual circuit includes four holy sites: Yamunotri, Gangotri, Kedarnath, and Badrinath. Day 01: Arrival in Haridwar

On the first day of your journey, you will arrive in Haridwar, one of the seven holiest cities in Hinduism. After checking into your hotel, you can explore the vibrant city, visit the Mansa Devi Temple, and participate in the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti at Har Ki Pauri in the evening. The aarti is a spiritual experience that fills the air with the sound of bells, drums, and chants, creating a divine atmosphere. Spend the night in Haridwar, preparing for the journey ahead.

Day 02: Haridwar to Barkot (175 KM)

The second day begins with a scenic drive from Haridwar to Barkot, a picturesque town nestled in the Himalayas. En route, you will pass through the charming hill station of Mussoorie and stop at the famous Kempty Falls, where you can enjoy the refreshing mist and natural beauty. Upon reaching Barkot, check into your hotel and relax, as the next day will involve a trek to Yamunotri Dham.

Day 03: Barkot to Yamunotri to Barkot (90 KM)

Early in the morning, you will drive to Jankichatti, the starting point for the 6-kilometer trek to Yamunotri Dham. The trek can be completed on foot or by hiring a poni or palki for those who prefer a more comfortable journey. Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River and home to the sacred Yamunotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. After offering your prayers and soaking in the spiritual ambiance, return to Jankichatti and drive back to Barkot for an overnight stay.

Day 04: Barkot to Uttarkashi (100 KM)

Today, you will drive to Uttarkashi, a town known for its ancient temples and serene surroundings. Upon arrival, visit the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, one of the oldest and most revered Shiva temples in the region. The temple’s architecture and spiritual significance make it a must-visit destination. Spend the evening exploring the town and return to your hotel for a peaceful night’s rest.

Day 05: Uttarkashi to Gangotri to Uttarkashi (200 KM)

The fifth day begins with an early morning drive to Gangotri Dham, one of the most sacred sites in Hinduism. Gangotri is the origin of the Ganges River, and the Gangotri Temple here is dedicated to Goddess Ganga. After taking a holy dip in the Ganges and offering prayers at the temple, you will return to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay. The journey to Gangotri is scenic, with breathtaking views of the Himalayas and the pristine river.

Day 06: Uttarkashi to Guptkashi (220 KM)

Today’s journey takes you to Guptkashi, a town steeped in mythology and home to ancient Shiva temples. En route, you will pass by the Tehri Dam, one of the world’s largest dams, offering stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Upon reaching Guptkashi, check into your hotel and spend the evening exploring the town’s spiritual sites, including the ancient Guptkashi Temple.

Day 07: Guptkashi to Kedarnath (35-KM DRIVE & 20-KM TREK)

The seventh day is dedicated to the journey to Kedarnath, one of the most revered pilgrimage sites in India. You will drive to Sonprayag and then trek 20 kilometers to Kedarnath, or opt for a poni or palki ride. The trek offers panoramic views of the Himalayas and the Mandakini River. Upon arrival, visit the Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and spend the night in Kedarnath, immersed in its spiritual atmosphere.

Day 08: Kedarnath to Guptkashi (20-KM TREK DOWN & 35-KM DRIVE)

In the morning, you will trek back to Gaurikund and then drive to Guptkashi. The descent offers a different perspective of the Himalayan landscape, with lush greenery and flowing rivers. In the evening, visit the Guptkashi Temple to witness the aarti and soak in the divine energy. Return to your hotel in Guptkashi for an overnight stay.

Day 09: Guptkashi to Badrinath (200 KM)

Today, you will embark on a long but rewarding journey to Badrinath, the final destination of the Char Dham Yatra. The drive takes you through winding mountain roads, offering glimpses of the Alaknanda River and the majestic Himalayas. Upon arrival in Badrinath, visit the Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and spend the evening exploring the town. Overnight stay in Badrinath.

Day 10: Badrinath to Rudraprayag (160 KM)

The tenth day begins with a morning visit to the Badrinath Temple, followed by a drive to Rudraprayag. En route, you will pass through scenic landscapes and quaint villages. Rudraprayag is the confluence of the Mandakini and Alaknanda Rivers, making it a spiritually significant location. Spend the night in Rudraprayag, reflecting on your journey so far.

Day 11: Rudraprayag to Haridwar (160 KM)

The final day of the Char Dham Yatra takes you back to Haridwar via Rishikesh. Along the way, you will visit Devprayag, the confluence of the Alaknanda and Bhagirathi Rivers, which marks the beginning of the Ganges. You will also stop at the Dhari Devi Temple before reaching Rishikesh. The tour concludes in Haridwar, where you can reflect on the spiritual journey and the divine connections you’ve experienced.
